Einstein proved many years ago that time was not a constant. What he proved with mathematics was later physically proved through the NASA Space Program. I could have told them that without the expensive rockets and shuttles, every year seems to speed up and after a short blur its back to January again. I am told that age does this to you, the seconds shrink and the body expands.

The march of time is unavoidable and all we can do is ride the wave of time, making sure that as we ride we gain wisdom, insight and the ability to surf with more grace and talent. As Pastor of a church I am always looking for ways to grow in maturity and to lead the congregation down that path. 2009 will be a stellar year of maturing because the Lord has said that He wants to see our fruit, the fruit of Kingdom growth.

The challenge for us as NorthWest from this day on is to build the Kingdom of God by being a witness to the power and grace of God. That means we must be ready to have faith in the power of the Lord to reveal Himself to non-believers and in the gospel that we are to bear witness to.

If I tell my children to fulfil a task and they ignore me then I am sad and disappointed. They eventually suffer because of their disobedience. If my heavenly Father tells me to do a task and I disobey the same thing happens, He is sad, disappointed and He knows that I will siffer for my choices down the track.

This year, be encouraged to make the choices that the Lord calls us to. Let’s be people who count in the eternal scheme of things. Seek the Lord and you will find Him.           In love, Alan
